About Alchemy of Healing’s founder, JNa

I am a queer survivor of extreme domestic violence - a topic not discussed much or understood. I became a ghost. I lost touch with the goodness in me. Along with my home, my business, financial dignity, my creativiey and hope. my reputation, and my 3 young children.

When I left the relationship 8 years ago and needed help, there was nothing available to me.

So I built it.

But I didn’t do it alone.

On this journey of detangling + understanding all that happened to myself and my children, and the necessary healing (body, mind, sense of safety and trust, communities) that needed to occur to move forward and build a life worth living, many themes and beings emerged, slowly integrating into the person I am in this moment. Maybe some of these have also been part of your journey:

  • Art

  • Dance

  • Nutrition

  • Mutual Aid

  • Exercise

  • Interconnectedness & Impermanence (the Dharma)

  • Identity

  • Therapy (good/bad/everything in between)

  • Nature

  • Thrift (especially mission-driven)

  • Community

  • Childhood Trauma

  • Complex PTSD

  • Spoken Word

  • Play and Sillyness

  • Laughter!

  • Silence

  • Meditation / Mindfulness

  • Medical Complications

  • Sustainability

  • Synchronicity

  • Love

  • Alignment

Everything I do, I do because I believe healing is possible. Not easy - but a possibility, none-the-less. I envision a future where our collective reckoning and recognition of our individual pain, grief and silent suffering has the power to bring us closer together. To resource for one another, learn from one another, care for one another.

What might our lives look like if we made some of that happen?

This is a living/breathing project unfolding over time, in real time. The evolutions of this website will always be under construction as a result. For timely updates to what is underway and unfolding, consider joining our texting or mailing list.

Thank you for being here. Every part of you.
